Clean room production
BILATEC
plastic disposable products are manufactured under clean room conditions according
to latest guidelines (class 100,000 and 10,000 after GMP standard).
Highly
qualified personnel, high availability of the production plant, most modern
mechanical engineering for highest precision as well as security by separate
manufacturing plants are a guarantor for short response times and flexibility.
The manufacturing plant is certified ISO 9000.
A good
entrance to injection moulding manufactures enables a fast realization of
projects into all plastic ranges.
NCC (Non Cross Contamination) Technology (see also NCC)
The high
sensitivity of PCR means that cross contamination is a problem to solve.
BILATEC offers a patented alternative sealing method by avoiding aerosol contamination
in microplates and tubes. The NCC technology as a system as been developed for
both manual and automated implementation in research and everday lab work
(RoboAMP 4200, MWG Biotech AG).
Quality control
The
THERMOSPRINT® and NCC of products fulfill all requirements to a reliable
plastic disposable. The increased use of the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) in
hospital and research requires new purity criteria, which are examined with the
THERMOSPRINT® products by most exact quality controls.
Quality requirements
DNAse/RNAse free: smallest quantities of DNA, which
are used for the attempts, must be protected against DNAse and RNAse
PCR-Inhibitoren free: all disposables, which come into
contact with PCR solution, must be free of PCR inhibitors
Human DNA free: plastic
disposables must be free of nucleic acids, i.e. it must be guaranteed that
during the manufacturing process there is no contamination with human DNA
Thermo-transfer
Extremely thin walled reaction tubes (£ 0,3 mm) guarantee an excellent thermo-transfer for a better and more
reliable PCR.

Evaporation
Independent from sealing method, wall thickness of the
reaction container and used plastic type a fundamental steam permeability is to
be expected.
Based on the data of the BASF, the permeability of a
100µ foil from PP for water vapour at 80°C is approx. 310g/m2/24h. Assuming a
linear dependence of this permeability the following can be calculated:
With an average well thickness of a tube of approx.
280 µm (corresponds to the well thickness of the THERMOSPRINTâ plate) a steam permeability is to be expected from
110,7g/m2/24h.
Experience values show that injection moulding
components due to pronounced amorphous character exhibited 80% of the steam
permeability in comparison with foils. That would correspond to 88,6g/m2/24h
and/or 172.8 mg their total loss per 96-well-plate/30 cycles.
Evaporation per well during the cycle process
lies with approx. 0.05 mg/tube/cycle.
Lower evaporation could be achieved by reduction of
the number of cycles and/or by reduction of
the cycle times.
Steptavidine-coating
THERMOSPRINTâ plates (MTP/96-well/384-well) are
also available with streptavidine coating.

tubes are of high transparency and produced with a special poly propylene-type in order to avoid
condensation in the upper part of the tubes. Optimally
